[:ipon] is a analog mixing and mastering tool for demanding near field monitoring. It is optimized for holographic transients, extremely low harmonic distortion of less than 1% up to 90dB as well an ideal voice reproduction. The recommended listening distance to this speaker is 1.8-2.4 meters.
A special feature of the new [:ipon] is the mechanical Time-Alignment of the drivers acoustical centers. This means that all drivers radiate all frequencies from the same place at the same time. The step response is very close to being perfect: tweeter and midrange driver start at the same time on the same axes with the same rising edge. The combination with a true D´Appolito design yields a transparent and rich on details room illustration. The horizontal sound radiation is construction-condition rather wide and yields a large sweet spot. Even when you leave the sweet pot area there will be no sound coloration at all. The frequency response is linear without break-outs.
The clou of [:ipon] is that by using the surrounTec™ filter the phase is passed on between the drivers without noticeable shifts. This concept means that the different frequency responses from the individual drivers summ up to a smooth total frequency response of the loudspeaker. The optionally build-in amplifier is placed before the filters in the signal path. With this monitor you will not have to make any compromises!
The [:ipon] nearfield monitor is available in the following configurations:
– [:ipon] Professional passive with surrounTec™ filters with Mundorf Supreme silver/gold components and audiophile Mundorf M-Connect terminals.
– [:ipon] Professional powered is identical to the passive version but with integrated high-grade class D monoblock amplifier module placed before the zero order filters.
[:ipon] can be supplemented by any subwoofer. We recommend the usage of one active [:log] module. There are two monitor tripods available for [:ipon]: the motor driven [:base] and the 4 pillar acoustic stand [:column] made from steel with sand-filling.
